[OCH] QXroads, NZIP2025, and software updates

Hello Reader,

This is not the newsletter I wanted to write, or at least not the way (and when) I had envisioned it. But there are a couple things that I must put under your radar right now. Shoutout to other events and news being shared in the Community. - if you know of some do share them there as well. I have missed many things here: what and why shall become clear in a prequel to appear next. Previous editions backed up here. Feel free to forward this to anyone who might be interested in signing up.

EVENTS

Talk at NZIP 2025

From the 2nd to 6th of July, I have the pleasure to be a Visiting Scientist hosted by Massey University, and within this week I am also delivering a talk on QAC at the NZIP 2025 at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, on July 3. This feels like a very unique and inclusive conference environment, where they managed to bring together from university academics to high school teachers, with talks on physics, quantum, and even Te Reo Maori language!

Quantum Crossroads

"Quantum Crossroads - at the intersection of arts, culture and quantum science and technology" (QXroads) is a global event sponsored by the UNESCO's International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. It will bring together experts and stake holders to discuss the intersection of quantum science and technology with arts, culture and creative technologies. The event is lead by a global committee and hosted by Te Whai Ao - Dodd-Walls Centre and Tūhura, Otago Museum, in Dunedin, New Zealand, from 7 to 9 of July. Registrations are still open, and there will be some hybrid sessions... if you want to be involved.

SOFTWARE

Keyboard Monitor v1.2

The Keyboard Monitor max for live device has recently received its v1.2 (and v1.2.1) update. Among other things this version includes a 0 Keys Mode (i.e. Chord Detector only), Ableton Push controller banks, and some extra immunizations to make it compatible with the M2TM tools.

The QAC Toolkit v1.0.3 & Beta Testers

There is a new minor version of The QAC Toolkit. Now it is possible to access the internal memory of quantum simulations, i.e. the individual shots using the `get_memory` method. It has also renamed the `console_output` attribute to `verbose` and it now defaults to OFF! On other news, The QAC Toolkit Beta Testers Group is now accepting applications again.
